Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, chairman of Indonesia's National Economic Council, stated recently that Indonesia will take steps to strengthen investor confidence, noting that China's support and assistance are indispensable, and there are broad prospects for investment cooperation between the two countries.
He made the remarks when attending the G20 Bali Global Blended Finance Forum in May.
Luhut noted that with rapid development, Indonesia's national development has entered a new phase, making it vital for the country to expand foreign investment and introduce advanced technologies.
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has explicitly demanded fostering a favorable business environment for foreign investment and instructed that necessary measures be taken to boost investor confidence.
Luhut said that investment cooperation with China and Indonesia has deepened in recent years. Experience shows that China not only possesses advanced technology but is also willing to share its development experience with Indonesia genuinely, rather than merely offering verbal promises.
In the future, Indonesia will increase investment in areas such as digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, healthcare and the construction of international financial centers. China's support and assistance will be indispensable, and the two sides have vast potential for investment cooperation, Luhut added.
