The World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization was announced at the opening ceremony of the 2026 World AI Conference and High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance in Shanghai. In an exclusive interview with CGTN host Tian Wei, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said global AI governance is still in its early stage and requires countries to build bridges, not barriers. He also voiced strong support for open-source, noting that China's open-source AI tools are benefiting the world.
