01:55

In an exclusive interview with CGTN, William Kabogo Gitau, cabinet secretary of Kenya's Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, stressed that developing nations risk falling permanently behind amid the AI wave. He noted China's comprehensive AI R&D and implementation experience can help Africa avoid detours.

Citing the African proverb, "If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together," the minister called on the Global South to build digital infrastructure, share benefits, jointly participate in formulating international AI rules and realize AI for good that benefits all humanity.
