China and Cambodia have stood together through thick and thin, supporting each other in times of need. Cultural ties have grown stronger, and more Cambodian students are now engaging with Chinese culture.
Cambodian youth Kol Sovathanak began learning Chinese in 2021 and later fell in love with Chinese calligraphy. Through diligent practice, he won first prize in the Cambodian division of the "Chinese Bridge" competition and set foot on Chinese soil for the first time. He said that calligraphy was his first window into understanding China and that, in the future, he hopes to pursue further studies at Nanjing University, devote himself to education and serve as a bridge for cultural exchange between China and Cambodia.
