Latvian artists in Lanxi mark 35th anniversary of China-Latvia ties

To mark the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations, a group of Latvian artists is taking part in a cultural exchange and plein air sketching event in Lanxi, Zhejiang Province. Latvian Ambassador to China Karlis Eihenbaums joined them to explore local heritage and see how art transcends borders, bringing peoples closer.

The ambassador praised Lanxi's well‑preserved historical architecture and traditional crafts, affirming that such artistic encounters are vital for mutual understanding. Restoration architect Arturs Lapins marveled at China's commitment to safeguarding ancient buildings and living craftsmanship. Painter Irina Trumpele echoed this, expressing hope that Latvian young talents can join future exchanges to learn and create alongside Chinese artists, deepening dialogue through their brushes.

This vibrant gathering not only celebrates shared heritage but also embodies the power of people‑to‑people connectivity, reinforcing the foundation for lasting friendship and a shared future.
