A rare golden bighead carp has been spotted for the first time in Yunyang, central China's Hubei Province. The bright yellow fish stood out in its school. Experts confirmed it is a natural color mutation caused by a lack of melanin – a phenomenon believed to occur only about once in 10 million cases. As water quality improves, more wild species, including egrets, crested ibises and glossy ibises, have also been recorded in the wetland park.
