The winners of the 9th Lu Xun Literary Prize, one of China's top literary awards, were officially announced on July 15. Wang Jibing, a 56-year-old food delivery rider from Jiangsu Province in east China, won the poetry award for his collection Low Flight.

He began writing in 1988, starting with fiction and essays before turning to poetry. In 2018, at nearly 50, he signed up as a food delivery rider, continuing to capture poetic moments between delivery gigs. Over the past three decades, he has written more than 6,000 poems.

During the creation of Low flight, Wang interviewed over 140 fellow delivery riders and collected more than 60 responses via questionnaires. With simple yet sincere language, the collection offers a vivid portrait of the inner world of delivery workers, revealing resilience and hope in ordinary lives.
