A group of 95 journalists from 88 countries visited Beijing Huadong Musical Instruments Co., Ltd., a pillar of rural revitalization in Donggao Village, Beijing, on Tuesday. Founded in 1988, it produces 55,000 violins yearly – around 80% of them for export – earning the title "home of the violin." The factory has created hundreds of local jobs, boosted farmers' incomes and turned a traditional agricultural area into a cultural-industry powerhouse. The visit provided the journalists, who tried the instruments themselves, an opportunity to see how rural China is thriving through diversified, innovation-driven development.
