China's first cross-border multimodal transportation service operating under a single document of goods was officially launched on Tuesday.

The service links Incheon in South Korea and Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan, streamlining logistics and cutting shipping time from 17 days to 12 days.

The launch was marked by the departure of freight train X80442 from Yantai Port in east China's Shandong Province.

The cross-border freight train was loaded with 53 containers of commercial vehicles and auto parts. The containers, shipped from Incheon Port, arrived at Yantai Port in Shandong after a 14-hour sea voyage.

They were scheduled to be transported by rail to northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, before being delivered by road to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
