Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with a cross-party delegation from the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs in Beijing on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Wang said China and Europe are partners rather than adversaries, noting that both sides share common positions on major issues including multilateralism, support for the United Nations and free trade. He also called for managing differences within the framework of the broader partnership and avoiding the politicization of economic and trade issues.
The European Parliament delegation said it values its relationship with China, opposes "decoupling," and is willing to strengthen dialogue and cooperation, including on green development and climate change.
