China's top political advisor meets speaker of Czech Chamber of Deputies

Wang Huning, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met with Tomio Okamura, speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, in Beijing on Thursday.

Noting that the friendly communication between the people of China and the Czech Republic has a long history, Wang said that the two countries share huge potential and broad prospects for bilateral cooperation.

China is willing to join hands with the Czech side to strengthen practical cooperation and promote the traditional friendship to regain vitality, while respecting each other's core interests and major concerns, he said.

Wang introduced China's positions on issues related to its Taiwan region and the Xizang Autonomous Region, saying that the CPPCC National Committee stands ready to contribute to promoting the healthy and stable development of China-Czech relations.

Okamura said that the Czech Republic adheres to the one-China policy, and the Czech side is willing to take the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the strategic partnership between the two countries as an opportunity to strengthen dialogue and cooperation with China, and promote the development of bilateral relations.

The Chamber of Deputies is willing to play an active role in promoting collaboration in various areas between the two countries and enhancing friendship between the two peoples, said Okamura.
