After spending nine days traveling across northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region with their Chinese peers, young singers from the US One Voice Children's Choir came away with more than memories. They discovered the power of friendship through music.
Throughout the journey, we asked every Chinese and American student to finish the same sentence: "When Chinese and American voices come together, it's ______."
The answers ranged from "magic" and "goosebumps" to "a delicious smoothie." Their explanations might surprise you.
Invited by the China Education Association for International Exchange, members of the US One Voice Children's Choir visited Xinjiang from July 12 to July 20.
