China is ready to work with the United States to implement the important mutual understandings reached by the two heads of state in the field of artificial intelligence, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Friday.

Speaking at a regular press briefing, Lin said head-of-state diplomacy plays an irreplaceable strategic guiding role in China-US relations.

He made the comments when asked about reports that US President Donald Trump said the two leaders will discuss AI-related topics in their meeting.
