Construction of the main facilities for the expansion of China's first commercial spacecraft launch site has been largely completed in Wenchang, Hainan. The expansion, known as Phase II, adds two new launch pads, rocket assembly and testing facilities, a command and control center, and supporting systems. Once complete, the upgraded spaceport will support up to 60 launches a year, giving a boost to China's growing commercial space industry.
