100-day countdown to CIIE 2026: preparations busy ongoing

July 27 marks the 100-day-countdown to the 9th China International Import Expo, which will take place between November 5 and 10, 2026.

According to a press conference held on July 27, 53 countries and 3 international organizations have confirmed to show at a national pavilion. Romania, Moldova and the United Nations Development Programme will be participating for the first time.

More than 1,200 organizations from 99 countries and regions have also confirmed to show  company pavilions and 265 of them are Fortune 500 companies. Over 70 companies will showcase their latest technologies in AI and new materials.

According to the size of the exhibition areas, the United States is now top among all foreign nations.

The CIIE will upgrade its special section for African countries that have diplomatic relations with China, encouraging the Global South to actively use the platform of CIIE.

One-hundred and sixty-nine companies and 30 international organizations are attending for the ninth consecutive year.

As an important part of each year's CIIE, the Hongqiao International Economic Forum has also set its theme this year — "Stability and Cooperation: Building an Open World Economy Together."  This year's forum will release two flagship reports — "World Openness Report 2026" and "Export-to-China Capacity Development Report."

To facilitate foreign visitors, the Shanghai immigration office plans to make entry easier. More volunteers who can speak Spanish, Russian, French and other minor languages will also be deployed to help foreign guests.
