Spider-Man: Brand New Day is off to a strong start in China. According to the movie data platform Beacon Pro, the film made more than 100 million yuan (less than $15 million) from preview screenings and advance ticket sales before opening on July 29.

China is one of the first markets to screen the film. It opens here two days before North America, giving local audiences an early look at the latest chapter in the Spider-Man series.

Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink and Jacob Batalon also recorded a video together to greet Chinese audiences ahead of the release.

The story picks up after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Peter Parker has been forgotten by everyone around him. He continues fighting crime as Spider-Man while facing a new group of villains on his own.
