The identities of 30 more victims have been confirmed in a mountain collapse that hit Pengshui Miao and Tujia Autonomous County, southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, the on-site disaster rescue headquarters said on Tuesday.
The 30 fatalities have been cumulatively confirmed after DNA testing and identification of remains since July 23, according to the rescuers. DNA verification for some other recovered remains is still ongoing.
The rainfall-induced disaster occurred at 9:08 a.m. on July 17, burying more than 10 residential buildings. Local authorities said on July 23 that the death toll had risen to 11, with 50 people missing.
Further search operations are underway.
