China's Yellow Sea-Bohai Gulf migratory bird habitat has been expanded following the official addition of the Changshan Archipelago to the UNESCO World Natural Heritage list. Located in Dalian, northeast China's Liaoning Province, the 4,900-hectare site forms a vital refueling stop on the East Asian-Australasian Flyway for over 140 avian species crossing the Bohai Sea.  

The boundary modification was officially approved on July 27 at the 48th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in Busan, South Korea, according to China's National Forestry and Grassland Administration. The decision marks another significant expansion of the sanctuary series, further protecting tens of millions of migratory birds along the key ecological corridor.
