As summer heat grips Yangzhou in east China's Jiangsu Province, Zhuyuwan Zoo has rolled out a range of creative measures to help animals stay cool.
Keepers give tiger cubs regular baths, set up mist sprays for giraffes, and prepare ice blocks and vegetable treats for wild boars, brown bears and other animals. Giant pandas have been moved into a temperature-controlled enclosure kept at 25 degrees Celsius, with ice blocks provided for play. The creative cooling methods have also drawn visitors, many of whom said the scenes offered a refreshing and memorable summer zoo experience.
