China is acting swiftly to verify the relevant information regarding recent reports that several mountain climbers, including a Chinese national, went missing in an avalanche in Pakistan, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said in Beijing on Friday.

Spokesperson Mao Ning made the remarks at a daily press briefing, adding that China stands ready to assist its nationals if needed and would like to provide assistance in accordance with Pakistan's needs.
