Rescuers recovered a passenger bus that plunged into a ravine in northern Algeria's Boumerdes province on July 31, killing at least 25 people and injuring 44, according to a provisional toll from the country's Civil Protection. The bus was traveling from Setif to Algiers when it veered off the road near El Karma, about 50 kilometers from the capital. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals, while authorities continued investigating the cause of the crash. President Abdelmadjid Tebboune declared three days of national mourning.
