As intense summer heat sweeps across China, refreshing mountain tourism is gaining huge popularity. Yinjiang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County in Guizhou Province, located at the western foot of UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site Mount Fanjing, has become a popular summer getaway. Relying on its superior ecological resources, ancient thousand-year-old trees and unique Tujia ethnic culture, the county features characteristic summer travel routes for heat-weary tourists.

A major highlight is the 1,300-year-old "King Crape Myrtle." The lush ancient crape myrtle tree forms a thick cooling canopy, attracting numerous local and international visitors to appreciate the rare plant "living fossil" and escape the swelter.

Further into the valleys, elegant Tujia stilted houses nestle among green mountains. Thanks to its high altitude, the local average summer temperature stays below 28°C, delivering a naturally cool environment. Tourists can immerse themselves in rich ethnic experiences, including traditional folk games, Tujia wedding rituals, intangible cultural heritage shows, long-table feasts and bonfire dances, enjoying authentic local culture and a comfortable, cool summer.
