A delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs led by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) held discussions with the US-China Business Council (USCBC) and its member companies in Washington, DC, on Friday.
Representatives of Chinese and US companies from multiple industries attended the event and engaged in active exchanges.
Ren Hongbin, chairman of the CCPIT, said the important consensus reached by the two heads of state during their meeting in Beijing has provided strategic guidance for practical cooperation between companies from the two countries.
Noting that the USCBC is an important counterpart of the CCPIT in the United States, Ren said the two organizations are both friends with a long history and partners in the present.
The USCBC has actively leveraged its influence and played an important bridging role in expanding China-US economic and trade cooperation, strengthening people-to-people exchanges and enhancing mutual understanding, he said.
Looking ahead, the CCPIT stands ready to work with the USCBC to build more high-quality platforms for government-business dialogue and economic and trade exchanges, help foster a sound investment environment, deepen cooperation in multilateral fields, and continue to serve as a practitioner of China-US friendship, a promoter of mutually beneficial China-US cooperation, and a defender of the stability and smooth operation of global industrial and supply chains, thereby jointly promoting cooperation between the business communities of China and the United States, Ren said.
At the event, US business representatives said the American business community has always been a steadfast voice promoting US-China exchanges and cooperation.
They said this year, designated as APEC "China Year," presents opportunities for both sides to deepen cooperation.
The China International Supply Chain Expo serves as a vital platform for practical cooperation between US and Chinese businesses, effectively promoting deeper industrial and supply chain cooperation between the two countries and helping maintain the stability and smooth operation of global industrial and supply chains, they said.
US companies are eager to participate in a constructive and pragmatic manner and play an active role in bilateral cooperation, they added.
