Czech Speaker of Chamber of Deputies says Chinese investment welcome

01:57

China's auto industry is growing fast, and Europe should compete rather than close its doors. That was the message from Czech Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Tomio Okamura after his first official visit to China — the first by a top Czech official in seven years.

During the trip, he toured Chinese auto plants and traveled with a business delegation. Okamura said he came with five goals: boosting Chinese tourism to Czech, securing visa-free travel for Czech citizens, restoring direct Shanghai–Prague flights, bringing the Terracotta Warriors to the Czech National Museum, and strengthening trade ties.

He told CGTN that the new Czech government welcomes Chinese investment, especially projects that create added value and high-quality jobs. Here are his words.
