A splash of color: Rare Cabot's Tragopan appears in Fujian forest

Rare Cabot's Tragopans have been recorded in Pingnan County, southeast China's Fujian Province. These birds are among China's most distinctive forest species, with its bright red face, golden-yellow belly and a blue-and-red neck ruff. Endemic to China and hardly seen in the wild, Cabot's Tragopans rely on healthy forest habitats to survive. Stronger ecological protection and wildlife monitoring efforts in recent years have helped reveal more signs of biodiversity recovery in the region.
