Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitian nationals in the United States ended on July 27. Farah Larrieux has lived in the US for 21 years — she ran a business, worked two jobs and built a life. Now her windows are covered and she's waiting for ICE.

When CGTN America correspondent Nitza Soledad asked whether she'd self-deport, her answer was immediate: "No."

The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) says conditions in the Caribbean country have "improved sufficiently" for Haitians like Farah to return. However, the US State Department still warns Americans not to travel to Haiti, maintaining a Level 4: Do Not Travel advisory, its highest alert.

Farah says she has the right to exist.
