Drone helps locate resident swept away by river, SWAT officer swims to rescue

A resident accidentally fell into the Tarim River in Shaya County, Aksu Prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and was swept away by the fast-moving current. After receiving an emergency call, local SWAT officers rushed to the scene and used a drone to search from the air, quickly locating her. By then, she had been carried about three to four kilometers downstream and was clinging to a tree, with only her head and hands above water. The officer crossed the dry riverbed, waded through shallow water and swam to the opposite bank to pull her to safety. She was taken to hospital and later discharged with no serious injuries.
