BREAKING NEWS
Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson: 'What we had committed to and were doing was to ensure that ships could transit through a safe route that would not cause any problems for them. Just two or three days after the June 28th agreement, and one day after the US Secretary of State's visit to the region and the signing of a joint statement with the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council, we encountered a unilateral US effort to open a southern route through the waters of Oman. This action was in violation of Article 5 of the memorandum of understanding, and it was also unsafe and dangerous from an environmental perspective, and it constituted a threat to Iran's national security. We are now talking about a corridor that will have a two-way route, not from two or three separate routes. This central route is intended to be used temporarily' - reports
