Iran and Oman are set to finalize a new shipping arrangement for the strategic Strait of Hormuz after more than a month of negotiations, an Iranian official said on Thursday. The proposed deal covers adjustments to sea lanes through the waterway, according to Abbas Goudarzi, spokesperson for the Presiding Committee of the Iranian Parliament. Goudarzi added that the talks are strictly bilateral between Iran and Oman, and that the United States is barred from participation.
