A pair of elegant white-naped cranes were spotted raising two fluffy chicks in the wetlands of Xilingol Grassland National Nature Reserve in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The attentive parents took turns foraging and standing guard, while the youngsters learn to feed and explore the shallow waters. Thanks to ongoing wetland restoration, regular patrols and improved habitat protection, the reserve is providing a safe haven for these graceful birds and many other wildlife species.
