The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said on Monday it had received a report of an incident about 37 km northeast of Al Khasab, Oman.

A cargo vessel reported on VHF Channel 16 that it had been hit by an unknown projectile, UKMTO said.

"Authorities are investigating. Vessels are advised to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity to UKMTO," it said.
