Construction of China's highest meteorological observation tower has passed the 200-meter mark in Hefei, east China's Anhui Province. Known as Luzhou Tower, the facility is expected to reach 400 meters upon completion, becoming China's tallest atmospheric research tower. Builders use advanced digital technology to keep the tall steel structure precisely aligned despite the hot weather. Scheduled to be completed in 2027, the tower will monitor air pollution, greenhouse gases and weather conditions at multiple heights. It is expected to strengthen China's atmospheric research with world-class observation capabilities.
