Tulou, also known as earth buildings, are among the most quintessential examples of traditional architecture in Fujian Province, southeastern China.

These splendid and unique ancient Chinese structures boast a profound historical heritage. Featuring thick rammed-earth walls, circular or rectangular shapes, and communal courtyards, they stand not only as a distinctive emblem of the Hakka culture but have also been inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008.
