A coastal wetland park in Beihai, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, has recorded two rare bird species for the first time, the Lesser Coucal and the Oriental Scops Owl. More new bird species have been seen at the park this year and over 200 bird species listed, highlighting the ecosystem's recovery and the wetland's role as an important stopover for migratory birds.
