While much of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region swelters, Bosten Lake is drawing crowds looking for relief, and thrills.

Speedboats cut across the water, beach motorcycles cruise along and off-road vehicles trace the shoreline. 

And Golden Beach has become a pit stop for road trippers exploring the lake's summer landscape.
