Rare raptors, including the greater spotted eagle and long-eared owl, have been spotted at Chuoyuan National Wetland Park in north China's Inner Mongolia. The greater spotted eagle, a solitary daytime hunter, is estimated to number only around 10,000 worldwide. The long-eared owl helps maintain forest ecological balance by hunting rodents. Following wetland restoration efforts, more raptors are breeding and settling in the area. The park is now home to 189 wild animal species.
