The major fire that broke out at a residential complex in Hong Kong last November was possibly caused by lit cigarette ends igniting combustible materials, according to the latest investigation report released by the independent committee investigating the fire.

With no other ignition sources identified, the inter-departmental task force concluded in its report that the blaze in Wang Fuk Court, a residential complex in Tai Po, was most likely accidental. 

The fire erupted on November 26 last year, resulting in heavy casualties.
