China's H-6J bomber, armed with YJ-12 supersonic anti-ship missiles, took part in a joint naval-air exercise conducted by the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Southern Theater Command in the territorial sea and airspace of China's Huangyan Dao and its surrounding areas on August 1.
Developed for maritime operations, the H-6J features enhanced radar, electronic reconnaissance and self-protection capabilities.
During the drill, bomber formations carried out strikes on maritime targets while naval vessels practiced air defense operations.
