Leaking crude oil from Caroline Bezengi, a Russian tanker grounded near Oman's Hallaniyat Islands, has created a slick that covers about 390 square kilometers and has spread to within an estimated 7 kilometers of the coast. The tanker carried nearly 1 million barrels of Russian crude oil near a nature reserve home to rare marine wildlife.
