China's green transition is gaining momentum as renewable energy expands and ecological resources are finding new pathways to create economic value. The implementation of the Ecological and Environmental Code on August 15 is set to provide stronger legal support for this ongoing transformation.

Across the country, renewable energy is reshaping both the energy mix and industrial landscape.

In north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, rich wind and solar resources are supporting the construction of large-scale renewable energy bases, while driving the development of equipment manufacturing and related industries.

In January 2026, a national standard for assessing the economic value of terrestrial ecosystems was introduced, providing a unified framework for measuring such value.

From clean energy production to the sustainable use of natural resources, green industries are becoming an increasingly important link between ecological conservation and economic development.
