Deep in Yunqiu Mountain in Xiangning County, Shanxi Province, lies a natural ice cave complex dating back more than 3 million years. Frozen year-round, the caves stay between 5 and 10 degrees below zero, so visitors need winter coats even in the summer.

At the Yunqiu Mountain scenic area, the cool experience continues outdoors with watermelon games, water activities and stream trekking. At night, fish-lantern parades, non-player character (NPC) interactions and karaoke keep the fun going.

In July, the scenic area welcomed 125,000 visitors, up 25% year on year. Its related businesses created more than 200 jobs and generated 19.45 million yuan ($2.7 million) in revenue, up 6.57%.
