Chinese, Indonesian navies hold drill east of Taiwan Island

The Chinese and Indonesian navies conducted a joint exercise in the waters east of Taiwan Island on Wednesday.

The Chinese naval vessel Honghe and Indonesian Navy frigate KRI I Gusti Ngurah Rai joined in formation, according to the PLA Eastern Theater Command. The exercise covered maritime communication, formation maneuvering, and maritime replenishment.

China's Defense Ministry says the joint exercise is aimed at enhancing operational capabilities, deepening practical cooperation, and jointly safeguarding regional peace and stability.
