China's 49th naval escort fleet, the destroyer Kunming, the guided-missile frigate Yueyang and the comprehensive supply ship Luomahu, has set sail from Sanya for the Gulf of Aden and waters off Somalia.

The fleet carries two shipborne helicopters and more than 700 personnel, including dozens of special forces.
