Hundreds of passengers were left stranded in the Sicilian port city of Catania on Wednesday after volcanic activity at Mount Etna grounded flights. The airport will remain closed at least until 4 p.m. on August 13. The airport in Comiso, in the southern Ragusa province, also stayed shut due to falling ash. Tourists, meanwhile, have been drawn to the spectacle, flocking to see the flames and lava flows from Europe's most active volcano.
