The reactor core at Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant's Unit 7 began its first fuel loading on August 12. Crews are placing 163 nuclear fuel assemblies into the VVER-1200 reactor core, the first of its kind in China. Tianwan is already the world's largest nuclear power base by combined operational and under-construction capacity. This milestone paves the way for further testing and commercial operation.
