As a popular self-driving route in Xinjiang during summer vacations, the 561-kilometer Duku Highway cuts across the Tianshan Mountains.

The scenic route winds through the Gobi Desert, snow-capped peaks, forests and grasslands. Landscapes shift dramatically along the journey, showcasing the breathtaking natural grandeur of northern Xinjiang.
