Rare historical records were handed to the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders on August 15, 2026 – the 81st anniversary of Japan's unconditional surrender in World War II.

Since January, over 150 artifacts and 100 archival documents have been added to the collection, including Japanese soldiers' letters, postcards, gas warfare manuals and wartime news compilations.

Several donations came from young researchers – a sign that historical memory is being passed down and kept alive.
