Watching the Perseid Meteor Shower at Wuling Mountain, Chongqing

In the early hours of August 13-14, CGTN reporters documented the peak of the Perseid Meteor Shower at Wuling Mountain National Forest Park in southwest China's Chongqing. Thanks to its high altitude and low light pollution, the location offers excellent stargazing conditions.

The Perseid Meteor Shower originates from Comet Swift-Tuttle. It radiates from the Perseus constellation in the northeastern night sky every August.

The brilliant Milky Way stretches across the night sky, with meteors streaking through the darkness. Stargazers and visitors flocked to the mountains to witness this fleeting summer celestial spectacle.
