A magnitude-7.7 earthquake struck Indonesia's Flores region early Saturday, per the China Earthquake Networks Center.

The epicenter was located off Flores Island's north coast at a shallow depth of 15 kilometers, Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) said.

A tsunami warning was issued for coastal areas, the BMKG added.
