Tropical Storm Lala brought torrential rain, strong winds and flash flooding to Hawaii at the weekend after skirting the Big Island. Nearly a meter of rain fell in some areas.

More than 219,000 customers lost power, while at least 100 homes were damaged and two were swept away. One person died in a vehicle-related accident on the Big Island.
